The Fordington’s Honours Degree Jewel^TM is a beautiful, meaningfully enamel-painted medal. Inlaid with a Latinate inscription, each jewel describes the graduate journey culminating in having been granted a Degree with the distinction of Honours.

The Honours Jewel’s^TM medal design features a representation of the cardinal points of a compass – painted in white enamel , symbolising the purity of knowledge and the seeking of truth. The points of a compass themselves represent the recipient’s ability to navigate one’s way independently and purposefully through life and career choices, upon graduating from university. Interspersed are the smaller compass points of red, symbolising passion, energy and drive.

Between all the points are gold fleur-de-lis representing purity, humanity and devotion to one’s calling. The Fordington’s^TM shield at the centre of the medal testifies to the authenticity and originality of the provenance of the jewel. The Latinate inscriptions are further stylised with capitalisation depicting the wealth of faculties to which the insignia refer at degree level, with further delineation at the bottom signifying the conferment of Honours themselves.

The ribbon of the jewel represents the traditional principal colours still often utilised by the most traditional universities.

The Basic version is a black card box lined with a black velveteen pad for the jewel to rest upon and the personalisation card set within the lid.

Standard

The Standard presentation case is a black case with a leatherette insert upon which the jewel is seated on the right and the personalistion card set to the left.

Premium

The Premium Presentation Case is a wooden style case with concealed magnetic lock. It is further embossed upon the cover with the wording of your Fordington’s Honours Insignia^TM. The inside of the Premium Presentation Case is inlaid with red velvet in both halves, complimented with red silken trim and two red cross sashes securing your embossed personalisation card.

The Honours Jewel Medals^TM themselves are also capable of bearing an engraving for your own personalisation on their reverse sides.
