The Fordington’s Honours Degree JewelTM<\/sup> is a beautiful, meaningfully enamel-painted medal. Inlaid with a Latinate inscription, each jewel describes the graduate journey culminating in having been granted a Degree with the distinction of Honours. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Honours Jewel’sTM<\/sup> medal design features a representation of the cardinal points of a compass – painted in white enamel , symbolising the purity of knowledge and the seeking of truth. The points of a compass themselves represent the recipient’s ability to navigate one’s way independently and purposefully through life and career choices, upon graduating from university. Interspersed are the smaller compass points of red, symbolising passion, energy and drive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Between all the points are gold fleur-de-lis representing purity, humanity and devotion to one’s calling. The Fordington’sTM<\/sup> shield at the centre of the medal testifies to the authenticity and originality of the provenance of the jewel. The Latinate inscriptions are further stylised with capitalisation depicting the wealth of faculties to which the insignia refer at degree level, with further delineation at the bottom signifying the conferment of Honours themselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
